Mitch and I went to work with sledges and sawzall’s after we got the paperwork done. The house is really sort of borderline, meaning that we could have just as easily decided to tear it down and start all over. That would not have been easy. They built the place around a hundred years ago and back then they did build houses out of chewing gum and matchsticks. This house is made out of heavy timber frame construction. The two of us used to work together doing kitchen remodeling in thousand oaks and we have a whole lot of experience doing this sort of thing. This is going to be the first whole house we have done together, but all of it is stuff that we have done before. However we have never been as deeply involved in something as this.
